Restored!

How painful it is to lose something you have worked for. I had spent time working on a blog post that was inspired by a billboard I saw on my way to work (watch out for that post!). My phone flashed a warning that my folders were full, so I decided to delete some files. I inadvertently ended up deleting this piece of work I was going to post!

Okay, I didn’t panic! (okay, maybe a tiny bit!) I quickly checked to see whether I could restore the deleted file. Thankfully I managed to locate the recycle bin for my Samsung notes and restored the document.

R-E-S-T-O-R-E. with a tap of my finger on the phone, that which was lost was now found and returned to its rightful place. I sensed a God moment happening right there.

Restore. It echoed in my heart; it gripped my mind. Restore.

I heard God whisper; “Isn’t that what I am capable of doing?”

“When you’ve lost it all, when you have no hope, with the touch of my hand I bring the glory back into your story. I take the wasted, the scorned, the rejected and turn it around.

Don’t ever think you are too broken for me to fix

I am the Fixer and I specialize in making masterpieces out of broken shards of clay.

I am the one who can transform your life and restore your joy

I will restore your dignity

I remove your shame

I restore your name

Just follow me

Watch me light your path

Receive strength for weakness

Courage for fear

Laughter for sadness

Sunshine for rain!”

God is the God of restoration. No matter what you think you have lost, He is the Restorer of broken walls. Let go of the hurt, disappointment, discouragement, and fear. Let God in the door of your heart. He will take what you think is hopeless and turn it all around for your good.

Today marks the first day of the seventh month of the year. I am not sure anyone of us can say 2020 has turned out exactly the way we envisaged. But dear friends, who has the final say? God is still on the Throne! He has not abdicated His position. He remains King over all and Master of the Universe. Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and our Way Maker. Nothing is too hard for Him!

So even if you feel wiped out and weary by the season you are in, don’t give up hope. Lift your eyes to the Lord, place your life in His hands, trust Him with every detail of your life. He is faithful to restore!

To receive restoration, you have to have a posture of faith. Naaman wanted restoration, healing of his flesh but was unwilling to do Elisha’s bidding until his servants counseled him (2 Kings 5:10). It was in dipping himself in the Jordan seven times as instructed by God’s servant that he was restored. Listen to God in this season, your restoration will come from your response of faith. The things He may call you to do may be tough and perhaps absurd, but wouldn’t you rather trust and obey than go your own way?

Obedience is linked to a posture of faith. The Widow of Zarephath was on her last journey to pick sticks and prepare a final meal for her son and herself to eat when she encountered Elijah. The Prophet said give me something to eat. That was tough. How do I give my last morsel of food away when my son is starving? I can imagine the battle in her mind before she chose to follow the instructions of the Man of God. But in her obedience was her blessing and restoration. She and her son who had been earmarked for death by starvation were restored to life!

Dare to believe God for more in this season. In 2 Kings 4:15-37, the Shunammite’s son was restored to life because she dared to believe God for more. When her son died, she didn’t make a fanfare of it. She stole away to seek the Prophet of God and she dared to say ‘it is well’ even when the boy lay dead. Her boldness provoked the man of God, Elisha, to pray until something happened, and the young lad was restored to life. Dear friend, may you and I not stop praying until we provoke heaven to respond to our needs!

Let’s dare to believe God for more in this season, more spiritual depths and insights, more anointing, more grace, more of His presence filling our lives, more souls for heaven, more wins for the Kingdom of God, more creativity, more fruitfulness, more financial blessings to pursue His purposes!

More for your glory Lord!

I pray that the Lord will restore your joy, restore your health, restore your hope, renew your strength and revive you once again.

Like Isaac who sowed in a time of famine and reaped a hundred-fold, may your every seed planted in this season return to you in an abundant harvest!

Like the dry bones that came to life after the Word of Prophecy, may everything that is written off as dead in your life receive fresh breath from the Lord and be restored to life! With God all things are possible!

May the Lord restore your fortunes and put a new song in your mouth! Glory Hallelujah!

“Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Awaken your might; come and save us. Restore us, O God; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.”

(Psalm 80:1-3)
