It Takes Two!

It Takes Two

The cover picture shows me discovering that there’s a tiny stain on my belt and Hubby helping me sort it out. After all he knows the picture “must to happen”!😃

Thanks Honey!

This reminds me of what marriage should be and the moments in marriage that count most. Those moments when we support each other and get each other through tough times, when

we prioritize our spouses needs and provide the wisdom, the help, the covering and encouragement they need in times of weakness. Often just a listening ear and a loving heart are all it takes to help our significant other sail through a rough patch. Other times tough love and candid feedback may be required but whichever way the key is to be motivated by love and a desire to support.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 was the scripture we chose for our wedding brochure all those years ago. Through the years I have experienced it’s truth in practical ways. Two are better than one! And when the two team up with God it’s even more glorious!

“Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

From this scripture the power of two in marriage produces;

1. A good reward – a more superior reward for our labour. Combining forces, financially, spiritually, emotionally and physically can double the results one could achieve alone! I have tasted and seen!

2. A support in times of trouble. When one falls he/she has someone to lift them up, hold them up, keep them strong. We’ve both had to be strong for the other in times of challenges and it’s worth it all!

3. The warmth of companionship, togetherness and of course, the warmth of a shared bed and sexual intimacy. Just being able to curl up beside another and know you are loved in your lowest moments is awesome and the sizzle of the marriage bed too is amazing! Where are my witnesses?😍

4. The ability to withstand challenges and face opponents with the combined force of two! One can feel threatened, beaten, discouraged but when there’s that other person there to help, affirm and support, it makes life a whole lot easier.

So yes, I am here to remind someone that it takes two working together to create a strong marriage and when we let God in the picture, He makes it so much more!

It takes two to create a beautiful marriage!
