God Will Deliver You!

“So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.” Then a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not be changed.”

Daniel 6:16-17

When men think your fate is sealed, when the enemy thinks he has you nailed, Jehovah still has the final say!

Indeed Daniel’s case seemed irreversible. How could he escape the hungry lions? And even if he did, who dared break the king’s seal? There was no way out of this! His enemies gloated and probably went on their way to feast in Celebration of their victory!

But Daniel’s story wasn’t over because God was in the picture and God hadn’t finished with him!

Child of God, your story isn’t over yet. You may be in the middle of a painful chapter right now but don’t despair, the God you serve continually will come through for you! There’s a new chapter unfolding with your breakthrough! Most importantly, every tough season is preparing you for what God has in store for you!

God came through for Daniel and He will come through for you! The king tried all he could to save Daniel but to no avail. Sometimes no power of man is sufficient to save. Doctors may have given the final prognosis, the judge’s verdict is final, a door has been closed in your face, but there is a God who is above all and over all! He overrules the verdicts of kings, judges, physicians! He overthrows the machinations of the wicked and destroys the workers of iniquity!

This was a test of Daniel’s faith and like him, our faith is tested through the trials we face. What will our response be? Daniel continued to pray even when he knew his life was at stake. He had absolute trust in God and God delivered him.

“My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you.” Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.”

(Daniel 6:22-23 )

It’s amazing how God saved Daniel. The lions don’t touch him because He had angelic protection and he came out unscathed. No one could tell that he had been in the lion’s den! He didn’t look like what he had been through! (to borrow from Diana Hamilton’s hit song ‘Adom’)

The God we serve is a God of miracles! Wherever you are today, whatever you are going through, may Daniel’s story encourage you!

Even when people are writing your obituary with glee, your God will bring you out of captivity! He will deliver you from the brink of death and turn your test into a testimony!

When Jesus was laid in the tomb, it was a dark moment and it seemed everything was lost. Like Daniel, his fate was sealed. A stone was placed at the entrance to ensure no one could go in or come out! Soldiers were commanded to keep watch over His tomb. But glory Hallelujah! He rose from the grave in power and might, having defeated death and hades and won salvation for us!

Because of His victory on the cross, we are more than conquerors! In every trial we face, we fight from a point of victory.

So remember it doesn’t matter who is against you, what matters is who is for you! You are sealed in Christ! His seal says you are loved, chosen, covered and ordained for His purpose!

Just as the blood on the door posts of the Israelites, exempted them from the Angel of Death’s rampage, so the blood of Jesus the Precious Lamb of God, is a covering and source of deliverance for us as born again believers.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

Revelation 12:11

Cheer up child of God! Those lions will not eat your flesh! Stand on God’s Word! Trust in His promises! Because you are His, God will always fight for you! It will end in praise!
